Brimham Rocks | Harrogate, Yorkshire
Pay a visit to the curious rock formations scattered over some 50 acres on Brimham Moor.
Created by an immense river 100 million years before the dinosaurs walked the earth, a visit to Brimham Rocks is truly a journey into pre-history.
The rocks have been sculpted by over 320 million years worth of wind, rain, ice and the movement of continent plates. Now, the rocks represent a great variety of weird and wonderful shapes, including elephants, hippos and mushrooms.
Children will enjoy exploring the area and are free to run around and play hide-and-seek as they please. Suitable for the whole family, this National Trust site is not one to be missed if you're in the area.
Entrance is free, but if you are driving you will need to pay for parking. Some of the most famous rock formations are located just 10 minutes away from the car park, so the less-able of you can still enjoy this incredible natural landmark.
