This huge Iron Age hillfort covers an area the size of 50 football pitches. Discover its 4000 year history by reading the information panels that guide visitors around the area. Hike to the top and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the countryside.
From a Neolithic enclosure to a Roman temple built in 4th century AD, Maiden Castle has so much history. There is a small car park and dogs are welcome (but keep them on a lead). Please be aware that the ramparts are not suitable for wheelchairs. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and don't forget your camera!
