Bingley Five Rise Locks | Bradford, Yorkshire
Bingley Five Rise Locks feature the steepest staircase locks on the longest canal in the country! This is probably why they are considered one of our seven wonders of the waterways.
Bingley has two sets of locks - the larger lock flight features five locks and amazing views of the Aire Valley. You can find a cafe and a place to privately moor boats, at the top of the flight.
A little further down the towpath are three locks. This spot is a really popular place to ride your bike, take a walk or dangle a rod.
It's completely free to enjoy the Locks, and there's plenty of wildlife to keep an eye out for - making it a fun outdoorsy activity for all the family.
