Free Stuff - How To Get Lots of Fantastic Freebies Online Today!
So… you want to know how to get free stuff, eh? Well then, look no further! With over 20 years of experience in freebie hunting, we’ll be sharing our expert tips and tricks to getting samples and lots of free products.
Welcome to our secret guide to freebie hunting, folks.
First things first, why do freebies exist?
Companies offer free samples and products because they want you to try their product and get familiar with it. It’s a way for businesses to get their brand seen and for you to try before you buy, so it works both ways.
Their hope is that you'll like their product enough to go back and purchase a full-sized version next time around.
Other reasons for companies giving out free goodies may include brands needing feedback on their new range or wanting to grow their social channels. In return for a freebie, they may ask you to fill out a questionnaire, sign up to their newsletter or like their Facebook page.
Generally, there will be something they want from you too, whether that's a short written review, you signing up to their email newsletter, or a Facebook like/share, but we can go into that in more detail later.
Make sense so far? Fab.
What freebies are up for grabs?

How to get free stuff on Social Media
If you love a good snoop on the old social media pages, then why not make better use of your time and score something for free?
How to get free stuff on Facebook
Nearly every brand and company now has a Facebook page, and they use it as a marketing tool to interact with their customers and attract new ones.
A lot of companies will give out freebies via their Facebook page and there are a few different ways they might do that including:
- ‘Like & Comment on this post’ basic giveaways
- Simple sign up form
- Fun, interactive game
The best way to start applying for these from Facebook is to like your favourite brands’ pages and start interacting with their posts. This means you’ll see more of their content!
Now, you could always wait until they have a giveaway or competition, or you could start commenting or private message them stating how much you love their brand or products and make sure you add some useful feedback.
Hopefully, they’ll respond to you and might even send you some products to try or some money-off coupons as a way of saying thanks!

How to get free stuff using Twitter
Just like Facebook, most brands have Twitter and it’s an easy way to quickly get in contact with your favourite companies. To start getting your freebies on Twitter, follow your favourites and start interacting!
Like their tweets and mention them in your own. You can also tweet them telling them how much you love their products and even ask them if you could try some samples where possible.
Most companies will have a giveaway at some point or another, especially around Christmas time, so make sure you enter those when you see them.
They can vary from simple ‘Follow & Retweet’ style competitions to more creative ones where you may be asked to tweet them a joke or a tip.
Another easy way to getting free treats on Twitter is by searching with popular comping hashtags such as #rttowin #competition #win #freestuffuk #winitwednesday and #freebiefriday - all great for hunting down Twitter competitions!
How to get freebies as a brand ambassador & product tester
Brands are always on the lookout for ‘brand ambassadors’ too so keep an eye out for these, you could even ask your favourites whether they need any.
This essentially means you’ll be asking to trial products and post a review for them in return.
They'll usually put a shout out on their social media channels or on their website blog if they're looking for people to try their products.
Remember, only apply for this if you have time to give a good, honest review. This way, you'll have more chances of being chosen again.
You can apply to test products from a brand directly e.g. Benefit, or it could come from a High Street store like Superdrug.
Here are a few places that are currently looking for brand ambassadors, just click to apply:
- Boots
- Soap & Glory
- Charles Worthington
- Skin Chemists
- Dr Botanicals
There are always new ones popping up so it's best to keep an eye out for your chance to apply. Sometimes, brands will ask for your social media channels and any blogs you contribute to or own, so it might help if you have a good online following!
Don't worry if not, though, it's not necessarily a way to guarantee yourself freebies. Quite often they have a certain number of slots to fill on a first come, first served basis, regardless of your online influence.
Some great product testing panels include:
- The Insiders
- Toluna
- Bzzagent
- Trybe
- Come Round
Get free stuff by starting a blog
Blogging has really taken off in the last few years, and now more than ever, brands are working with people just like me and you to promote their products.
HINT - Don’t create a blog just with the intention of getting freebies because you need to offer your readers something interesting and unique for your audience in order for brands to reach out to you.
If you love beauty products, start a beauty blog with reviews of your favourite products or posts detailing your skincare routine.
Love talking about food? Start a food blog with some of your best recipes and photos from your favourite food haunts.
Be passionate about your subject, work on building a following then you’ll be in a better position to approach brands to review products or work in collaboration with them.
If you concentrate on your blog, the opportunities should come to you.
If you don't have an interest in the product you're promoting, your audience and the brand will know.
It will lead to little engagement and the brand, along with other brands, won't be so keen to send you freebies again, so make sure your personality shines through and only accept things you know you have time to review.
Now if you’re not very good with words then don’t fret, blog come in all shapes and sizes and on different platforms.
Are you a natural on camera? It’s so easy to start a video blog on YouTube.
Or if you’re better with pictures then set up an Instagram account on something you really enjoy or just start documenting your life.
Brands will approach you on your chosen platform to ask if you want to collaborate with them and will send you products to review. Winning!
How to get free stuff by entering giveaways
Companies host giveaways every day all over the internet for you to enter. Some giveaways have thousands of smaller freebies available, like this Marmite giveaway with a whopping 250,000 winners.
Some however may have one big prize to give away, like a hamper or popular toy. You've got to be in it to win it either way, so don't be discouraged if there aren't that many prizes to be won, it's always still worth entering.
Who knows what you might win! There are a variety of ways to enter these free online giveaways, including:
- Signing up to the brand email newsletters
- Liking and following brands on social media
- Filling in your name and address on website forms
Sometimes, companies might ask you to do a creative task like take a selfie or draw a picture. Lots of people will be put off by this as it requires more effort so this is your chance to swoop in and take the prize!
Score freebies by emailing companies
You might be tempted to complain to a company when you receive really bad customer service, but have you ever thought about emailing them a compliment or asking to try their new product range?
They receive so many negative comments that they'd definitely welcome any nice comments you have about them. Lots of companies will send you out freebies or coupons - amazing!
Great... so how and when do my freebies arrive?
Just like freebies come in all shapes and sizes, there is a selection of ways you can receive your goodies, including:
- Free stuff by mail with free shipping - hurrah!
- Free coupons to redeem at your nearest supermarket or High Street store
- Cashback websites where you receive 100% cashback on certain items
- Pick up an item marked 'try me for free' in store and upload your receipt
The time it takes for you to receive your freebie depends on:
- How many there are to give away
- How long the campaign lasts for
- Whether it's being posted or you collect it yourself in-store
Where to find freebies online for your home
If you're on a tight budget but looking to spruce up your home, you can score yourself some great free furniture with sites like Freecycle, Gumtree and Preloved.
All of these sites have 'free' sections and you'll often find a free sofa, lamp or free wardrobes if you go digging enough.
Searching for local Buying & Selling Groups on Facebook will also show you what people are giving away in your area.
One thing to keep in mind though is that these listings are mostly from real people and not businesses, so they will not have the facilities to deliver to you, especially if you're asking about a free item.
So, make sure you are able to collect the item directly from their home when searching for your next free piece of furniture online.
